Turning Over a New Leaf

So, I'm turning over a new leaf (or so I hope.) Let's face it. I'm swamped with the "stuff" of life and use it as an excuse not to exercise and quite frankly, reward myself with chocolate ____ and milk at the slightest sign of stress. I admit it!!! Anybody that knows me knows that I love to cook and eat and I hate to exercise. BAD COMBINATION, especially at my age (goodness I hate saying that!)

Anyway, that said, I tell you all this b/c I'll need lots of encouragement. I really, really, really, really wanted one of those fudge rounds my child was eating earlier, so much in fact that I told him to take it into the other room. I ask, no beg, that if you have any wonderful low sugar/low carb/low fat (did I take everything good out, yet?) recipes to share, please, please, please do!!! Broccolli and ranch is getting old REAL fast. On the up side, I have stuck to my diet for one week officially tomorrow and I have lost about 4lbs. I know it's mostly water weight, but it's a start :) Thanks to my inspiring friends --- you know who you are!!

good luck christi! its an ongoing struggle for all of us. i saw this phrase one time and it really has helped me when i've thought about giving in when on a diet. it may sound vain to you and to others, but i guess its "whatever works!" it says:

"nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"

i try to think about that when i'm really in the mood to eat everything in sight. i'll look and see what kind of recipies i have and send them your way. four pounds in a week is GREAT!! amy is right about the peanut butter thing. I eat the all natural kind as a snack with apple slices and believe it or not, it really does satisy and take away the sweet cravings. sometimes i even add splenda to the apples to make it even sweeter. good luck you will do great.
